Recently awarded with the Rotterdam Fashion Awards 2014, International fashion designer Carmichael Byfield presented his AW15 House of Byfield collection at the Hilton Hotel in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Carmichael’s radical and refreshing designs set the perfect tone for a great fashion night out.
Originally from New York Carmichael Byfield (36) has lived since 2008 in the Netherlands, where his passion for designing men’sclothes returned. At an early age Carmichael already got inspired by designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Moschino who in1994 produced flower-printed menswear what really gave him more inspiration to follow their footsteps. After taken part in designers training in Jamaica and New York, his designer’s hands started itching again when he came to the Netherlands.
Here he started a short training again.
In 2011 Carmichael started designing for himself and occupied himself in designing for men’s cloths.House of Byfield‘s designs can be described as discreet and elegant wear with an eye for detail and a sportive touch. Carmichael mostly works with light fabrics in asymmetrical layers, so it falls beautifully and natural on the body. His ‘daywear suits‘ are for men who dare to dress well and still aren’t afraid to use color.
Carmichael Byfield a man with a limitless vision!!! Here are some looks from the show! Plus an exclusive interview about the collection!
Black & White Fashion Trend
There’s nothing new about a black and white combo, but there’s a reason, it’s a classic go-to. Both colors are accessible, create a great contrast and highlight smart design. The spring collections showed us that a black and white combination can be both subtle and bold. While Public School employed color blocking for a dramatic statement, labels such as General Idea and Skingraft contrasted with a trim, making a quiet but powerful effect. Meanwhile, Timo Weiland’s lineup showed the genius of layering to create your power ensemble.
Sporty Urbanite Fashion Trend
Urban has become one of fashion’s favorite adjectives over the last couple of seasons. Describing a growing area of the menswear market, urban styles take inspiration from the popularity of streetwear, aiming to achieve a high-end take on sporty, youthful styles that blend the sophistication of the luxury market with the casual attitude of the street.
Chic Leisure Fashion Trend
Menswear designers know that men exist outside of the tailored suiting world and demand comfort and style. Pushing style forward, designers did not disappoint, marrying relaxed fits with varying proportions and versatile pieces that lend themselves on occasions to season-less dressing.
Mens | Womens color Trend
Get a glance into one of our favorite Menswear color palettes for Spring / Summer 2015: New Neutrals. There’s a new group of colors that keep showing up each season, no matter spring or fall. These masculine hues that include indigo blue, dry sage, earth brown, heather blue and vineyard make up a group that has quickly become the “new neutrals.” This super-saturated palette is easily paired back to brights, pastels, or even true neutrals for a refreshingly complicated experiment in styling that resonates with today’s contemporary menswear customer
