Atlanta-Based Personality Barry Brandon, Subject of a Soon-to-be-Released Documentary, to Host Preview Screening with Director Jordan Hackworth in his Directorial Debut.

ATLANTA, Georgia (April 1, 2014) – Local entertainer and producer Barry Brandon will be hosting a special Director’s Cut screening of The Tin Man Project, a documentary about his journey through eight open-heart surgeries and the birth of his charitable foundation, to be previewed in a single-night engagement at Atlanta’s historic Plaza Theatre onWednesday, April 9, 2014, before hitting the upcoming film festival circuit.

The Tin Man Project combines home footage from hospital recovery, musical performances, a one-man show, and insightful interviews into a powerful film about Barry’s jaw-dropping journey.  Hackworth’s feature explores the healing powers of love and laughter, finding passion in unexpected places, and the comedic moments found in the harsh realities of impending mortality.

“After many years of following Barry’s journey, we are very proud to bring his story of courage, laughter, and family to Atlanta,” Hackworth said. “Barry started a video diary as a keepsake for his family in case he didn’t survive his eighth open-heart surgery. This diary quickly turned into a collection of tapes, with a story that was continuously unfolding.”

Barry Brandon is a singer and comedian and the creator/producer of “Sing for your Life,” the  Atlanta-based, live singing competition, currently in its second season.  Jordan Hackworth is a television producer based in Los Angeles.  He has worked on projects for several networks, including Bravo and VH1. This is his directorial feature film debut.
